Children at Springboard’s Ashcombe setting in Weston are enjoying a brand-new, state-of-the-art sensory room – all thanks to the incredible generosity and hard work of Weston Rotary Club.
Over the summer, members of Weston Rotary dedicated their time to decorating, repairing, and improving the Ashcombe site. Most significantly, the club funded all the specialist sensory equipment for the new room – creating a safe, calming, and stimulating environment for children with additional needs.
The newly completed sensory room provides bespoke tools and activities designed to help children regulate, relax, and develop important skills through play and sensory exploration. Staff have already noticed the positive impact on children’s wellbeing and engagement.
Springboard CEO, Ruth Glover said: “We are so grateful to Weston Rotary for their outstanding support. Their generosity has turned a dream into reality. The sensory room is already loved by our children and staff, and it will benefit countless children and families for many years to come.”
Weston Rotary’s Past President, Helen said she was pleased to be involved with this project at the Ashcombe Children’s Centre, because during her year in office she had been determined to be involved in local charities where significant differences could be achieved. She is delighted that President Audrey is continuing to champion this vital resource, with the support of all of the Members of Weston Rotary.
We are truly thankful to Weston Rotary for their time, commitment, and funding – their kindness has created a space that is truly amazing!
