Springboard Opportunity Group are incredibly proud to announce the release of a new film, created with the generous support of long-time ambassador Sonya Cassidy – most recently seen in Reacher – in collaboration with Liv Hansen (Camera Department) and Niels Bellinger (Editor). The film has been produced to showcase the charity’s mission, values, and longstanding commitment to young children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their families.
Available to view on Springboard’s homepage (www.springboardweb.org.uk), the film offers a closer look at the ethos and history of the organisation. In 2026, Springboard will celebrate over 40 years of providing specialist support for children aged 0–5 with SEND, alongside vital assistance for their families. Guided by our vision, we strive to empower every child and their family to thrive within a supportive and inclusive community.
Sonya Cassidy, Ambassador for Springboard, said:
“As Ambassador it was my privilege to go behind the scenes at Springboard recently and I’m thrilled to share the short film we made. The staff and children were ace – so patient with the change in routine and lots of questions! An entire feature-length film could be made about Springboard Opportunity Group; it is such an inspiring story. For now, join us for a glimpse of the all-important day-to-day, the extraordinary beginnings, and the passion from staff for the future of this remarkable place. You’ll see the warmth and support that children with SEND and their families experience in North Somerset. Forty years strong – with another 40 (and many more) to go.”
Ruth Glover, Springboard’s CEO, commented:
“We are delighted with the response to our new video – it really captures the heart of Springboard. Having our ambassador, actress Sonya Cassidy, involved brought such authenticity and warmth, helping us share families’ stories in a way that is both powerful and deeply moving. It’s wonderful to see how strongly the video is resonating with people.”
