It is an honour and a pleasure to be given the opportunity to work with this amazing organisation as Chair of Springboard Trustees. The Springboard Trustees comprise a diverse range of talents and experience who generously offer their time and expertise to the charity. The Trustees oversee the governance of the organisation, ensuring that we have a clear strategy and are delivering against our vision and purpose.
A sincere thank you to Elizabeth (Beth) Manning who was a spectacular Chair over the last few years during the most challenging of times. Beth led a significant staff management restructure and a Trustee Board reshape whilst keeping business as usual throughout COVID. A Herculean task.
Springboard is an incredible organisation. Working in North Somerset Children’s Services for over 20 years I know how much positive difference it makes to the lives of hundreds of children and families in North Somerset. It really is a life changer for so many. I can think of no other local organisation working with children and families that delivers with such high quality and care, whilst being incredible value for money. Over half of its activity comes from fundraising and we rely on our fabulous volunteers who both work directly with children but also in a wide range of support functions. Every penny you raise helps.
I am excited about continuing to help champion and support Springboard in its next phase, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Delivering the best possible to start in life to children with additional needs and disabilities should be a given to every child.
