This Small Charity Week (23–28 June), Springboard was delighted to welcome back its long-time ambassador, Sonya Cassidy, acclaimed actor and North Somerset native, known most recently for her role in Reacher. Visiting Springboard’s Ashcombe setting, Sonya spent time with the dedicated team and met some of the children benefitting from the charity’s specialist services. Reflecting on her visit, she shared:
“This Small Charity Week, it’s my privilege to shine a light on Springboard Opportunity Group. They go above and beyond for every single child with SEND and their families. Though small, their impact is huge in North Somerset. No donation is too small. No time you can give is too short. Continued support is vital, and my goodness, they work magic with it.”
This sentiment feeds in beautifully with the nationwide celebration recognising the vital role small charities play in communities across the UK. This year’s theme, financial resilience highlights the incredible efforts of small charities to continue delivering essential services in the face of rising costs and decreasing funding.
We were also lucky enough to be joined by Linda Meaton of Linda Meaton Photography to capture the day on film so beautifully.
