Actor Sonya Cassidy grew up in North Somerset and has been an Ambassador for Springboard for a decade. Currently starring in Reacher on Amazon Prime as the intelligent and tough DEA agent Susan Duffy, Sonya recently made a special visit to the charity’s Clevedon centre to enjoy playtime with the children and reconnect with Springboard’s dedicated staff. Her presence is a testament to her enduring commitment to supporting the vital work of Springboard, inspiring the children and the team alike.
“Springboard is such a special place for children with SEND. For those positive early milestones in life, that every child should have. The warmth from every member of staff is palpable and you can see the children respond to that.”
We were lucky enough to have BBC Bristol film some of the visit and interview Sonya and Ruth Glover, Springboard’s CEO. You can see this on BBC Points West’s Tuesday 25th March programme. Footage was also shared on BBC Radio Bristol’s Breakfast Show on the same day where presenter Joe Sims caught up with Ruth Glover about all things Springboard. You can catch up on this via the BBC Sounds app.
