About Springboard Opportunity Group

A little bit about us
Springboard Opportunity Group is a well-established charity. A safe and secure place where children with disabilities are able to learn and flourish. Where different isn’t different and additional needs are not an additional burden, we provide support for families in challenging times.
We are a voluntary sector daycare provider in North Somerset, registered and inspected Outstanding by Ofsted. The charity is managed by a group of elected trustees.
Springboard was formed in 1986 by a small group of parents living in North Somerset, who all had pre-school age children with special educational needs and could not find the support they required during the early years of their children’s lives.
Since we started, we have worked with thousands of children and their families and we continue to provide our vital service today for over 100 children every week at our four centres.
Children attending Springboard may have a learning disability, physical difficulties, complex medical needs, social communication and interaction challenges including autism, or sensory needs. Some children are life limited.
We benefit from having a strong team of almost 40 qualified and experienced staff and involve over 30 dedicated and hard-working volunteers. Our staff have built up a strong base of knowledge and expertise over many years, which we share with parents and carers and with staff in local authority pre-schools.
Springboard is the only organisation of its kind in the North Somerset area.
By starting as early and as individually as possible with a child and their family, we support them through the crucial and often frightening steps of the early years. We give them the tools they need for years to come and help give these young children the very best start in life.
