Makaton
Makaton is a keyword signing and symbol system which is widely used to enable children with language difficulties to communicate.
We run courses to help parents and carers; family members; pre school and schools staff and other support staff.
A brief description of the courses:
Beginner's 1
Suitable for parents/carers and early years staff
Beginner's 2
Suitable for parents/carers and early years staff who have completed Beginner's 1 Workshop
Follow up 1
For those who have completed both Beginners 1 and 2
Follow Up 2
For those who have completed Begs 1 and 2 and Follow Up 1
Foundation Course
Is recommended for teaching staff, early years staff and other professionals (is more detailed than Begs workshops)
Enhancement Course
Is aimed at those who have completed the Foundation workshop
Refresher
Particpants must have completed at least Beginner's workshop.
