MPs Unveil Springboard Plaques

On the 25th May, we were joined by not one, but two Members of Parliament.

John Penrose MP visited our Weston site and Dr Liam Fox MP came to our Clevedon facility. Both MPs were given a tour of the respective playrooms, and both unveiled plaques celebrating our 25th academic year of operation.

Both MPs stayed on to present long service awards to a number of long-serving volunteers, and certificates of appreciation to volunteers who donated their time to collect money for us at Bristol Airport last year, when we were the airport’s charity of the year.

Dr Fox also helped chair Springboard’s AGM, and gave a rousing speech of appreciation for the good work Springboard does. He said he was very proud of Springboard’s achievements and longevity, and he holds the charity up as an example of what can be achieved when local people get together to deliver services to the community.

Also in attendance at the AGM was Springboard patron and BBC Weather Presenter Jemma Cooper, who also expressed her pride at being associated with Springboard.
